Le Chiancolelle is a town near the Chiunzi Pass. The path to reach the locality from Monte Finestra is a ridge path which however develops in ups and downs as it starts already from a significant height. But it allows with little effort (the difficulty is more technical as the bottom is rocky) to admire breathtaking 360 ° views. route passes reaches a maximum height of 748 meters .
Going down from Monte Finestra you pass by Pietrapiana (948m). The town is famous for an altar dedicated to the Madonna where a famous procession is held on 2 June. In the area there is a fountain fed by cisterns and a characteristic cave that opens both on the Cavese side, with a view of the Metelliana valley and the Picentini Mountains (Avellino and Salerno) and on that of Tramonti, with a panorama that ranges from the Amalfi Coast to the plateau of Agerola up to Molar .
From Pietrapiana continue the descent along the Alta Via passing the panoramic stretch on the crests of the mountains looking in front of the antennas on Monte Sant’Angelo . Follow the ridges up to Tuorno Sant’Angelo (884m) where the quiet path begins up to Chiancolelle ( 735m).
From here you reach the Valico di Chiunzi in Tramonti , the meeting point with the main state road and from which you start the climb towards Cerreto .
